李耘教授现任英国思克莱德大学教授和东莞理工学院校长特聘海外杰出人才。他于1984年、1987年和1990年获得四川大学理学学士、电子科技大学工学硕士、思克莱德大学博士学位, 1989年在英国国家工程实验室做咨询工程师,1990年在英国工业控制与系统公司做博士后,1991起在英国格拉斯哥大学(QS排名65)执教、担任智能系统博士生导师,于2011年赴新加坡出任格拉斯哥大学560年历史上首个海外分校的创校校长,2013年任格拉斯哥大学与电子科技大学中外合作办学英方创始主任。

2016年李耘教授与两所英国大学共同主持英国重大科技计划项目“数字时代的工业系统”(工业4.0科研网+,英国自然科学基金资助,约合人民币¥1,000万元,共有10名执行委员,40多家单位参与),并作为大会主席于次年组织召开了国际上和英国基金委第一个有关“工业4.0”的学术会议 — “超越工业 4.0”。他长期致力于人工智能及其应用研究,在进化计算与优化、智能设计与制造、计算机自动设计及机器发明、智能控制及系统识别、微波内燃发动机等方面取得了一系列首创性成果,共发表260篇论文,多篇入选ESI“高被引”论文、“计算机科学研究前沿”、“工程技术研究前沿”和“计算机科学热点论文”,其中“PID control system analysis, design, and technology”一文被谷歌学术引用1787次,在其领域顶级期刊IEEE Transactions on Control System Technology发表后,其月下载量、它文引用量和专利引用量都一直排名每月第一;另一文(“Adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization”)被谷歌学术引用1217次,在IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man & Cybernetics – Part B发表后,在该期刊中也一直排名每月前五;被格拉斯哥大学图书馆评为该校第二“顶级作者”(‘Top Author’)。

李耘教授是欧洲进化计算优秀网的创办人和理事之一,并主持了美国IEEE CACSD-EC工作组,多次受邀为中国教育部长江学者海外评委,新加坡教育部和国家研究基金、英国国家工程与科学基金、英国政府贸易和工业部等评审专家,先后共担任了40个国际会议组委会、学术委员会的委员、主席及大会主席,目前担任国际学术期刊 IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation 和IEEE Transactions on Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence副编辑。

Professor Yun Li is currently Professor in Design, Manufacture and Engineering Management at University of Strathclyde U.K., and Overseas Distinguished Professor at Dongguan University of Technology, China. He received his PhD in parallel computing and control from University of Strathclyde in 1990. During 1989 and 1990, he was with UK National Engineering Laboratory, East Kilbride, and Industrial Systems and Control Ltd, Glasgow. In 1991, he joined the University of Glasgow as Lecturer, and later served as Founding Director of University of Glasgow Singapore, the University’s first overseas campus in its 560-year history. 

Professor Li developed one of the world’s first 30 evolutionary and neural computing courses in 1995 and the popular online interactive courseware GA_Demo for computer-automated design (CAutoD) in 1997. In 1998, he established and chaired both the IEEE Computer-Aided Control System Design Evolutionary Computation Working Group and the European Network of Excellence in Evolutionary Computing (EvoNet) Workgroup on Systems, Control, and Drives for Industry. He has over 250 publications, one of which is elected by Thomson Reuters to “Research Front in Computer Science”, one to “Research Front in Engineering”, four to “Essential Science Indicators” (ESI), and two have been noted the most popular in IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology and the most cited in IEEE Transactions on Systems, Man, and Cybernetics – Part B since their publications in 2005 and 2009, respectively. Professor Li is a Chartered Engineer in the UK, an Associated Editor of IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation and IEEE Trans Emerging Topics in Computational Intelligence, and a Guest Editor of Smart Design, Smart Manufacture and Industry 4.0 Special Issue for Energies.
